SG Gibraltar Standards of Excellence & Start-up Awards 2023 - Celebrating Triumph Beyond Adversity

We are hugely honoured to have been nominated in both the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Excellence and the Start-up & Business Ecosystem Partner Excellence categories ahead of the SG Awards 2023 taking place in Gibraltar on Thursday 7th December.

• Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Excellence

Hassans is dedicated to improving diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession and within the industries to which we provide services. In recent months, we held a Roundtable event, led by Tania Rahmany, inviting lawyers in other firms to collaborate and identify actions points to improve gender equality in the legal profession; James Lasry ran a funds director course, aiming to encourage women to take places on the boards of regulated funds and Yvonne Chu has co-founded the Women’s Insurance Network, which fosters the development of young women in the insurance industry. We also highlighted the successes of women leaders in our podcast series, Keeping it Civil. 

• Startup & Business Ecosystem Partner Excellence

Gibraltar is a hot bed of exciting new ventures and talent and Hassans is proud to be a part of turning startups into success stories. We work closely with GANT and GEVGA playing a strong part in developing interactive entertainment and esports into the next fintech / gaming sector for Gibraltar. Many of our lawyers are dedicated to providing their time pro bono to help bring local projects to fruition including David Montegriffo, who recently delivered an Entrepreneurship Series to the SUG community and acts as a Business Advisor in the annual Young Enterprise programme, along with Chloe Oppenheimer and Sam Benamor who have been an active part of panels supporting young start up concepts, and offering their time and expertise pro bono.
