Hassans’ Development Finance team is a leading player in the negotiation, drafting, and completion of major commercial and residential developments in Gibraltar and has advised on most of the major developments in Gibraltar for the past 10 years.

Development Finance transactions have become very sophisticated and require strong negotiation, financial comprehension and technical skills together with an ability to advise on and coordinate the construction and property law aspects. Isaac Levy leads the firm’s Development Finance practice and is a key trusted adviser to a number of high net worth/real estate owning groups. The team has extensive corporate, commercial and private client practice and regularly leads negotiations on high value real estate and corporate transactions. The team plays an integral part in the planning and structuring of real estate transactions for our clients, leveraging extensive experience in property ventures to advise our clients on the commercial aspects of the transaction and supervise the proper execution of the transaction.

The team has acted on numerous large value real estate development projects in Gibraltar acting for both lender and borrower. The team regularly advises on the provisions of joint venture agreements in respect of the ownership of corporate developers. The team also advises on construction law matters and regularly advises developers on the drafting and negotiation of high value construction contracts with contractors. Once the terms of the finance agreement have been agreed, the team leads on the drafting and negotiation of the Development Finance transaction documents. The team project manages the development finance transaction, managing the finance and construction aspects which include coordination with colleagues in our Property department where necessary.
