Hassans supports GibLink - connecting Gibraltar with new opportunities in London.

Hassans was proud to support GibLink London as a Gold Sponsor on Tuesday 20th October, joining business leaders, investors and professionals at London's iconic OXO Tower for an evening dedicated to Gibraltar's economic future and international business opportunities.

Held as part of Gibraltar Week in London, the event marked the culmination of the latest series of GibLink international business roadshows, which also visited Marbella and Manchester over the past two months. Organised by HM Government of Gibraltar, the initiative aims to strengthen commercial relationships, showcase Gibraltar's strengths as an international business centre and create new opportunities for investment and collaboration.

Hassans hosted the evening's opening discussion, featuring Simon Gillett, Founder and Group Chief Executive of Balaena, in conversation with Molly McElwee of The Times. Their discussion explored the development of a global maritime group from Gibraltar, providing a practical illustration of the jurisdiction's potential as a base for internationally focused businesses.

In her keynote address, Minister for Health, Care and Business, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez, highlighted Gibraltar's evolving business landscape following the UK-EU Treaty and outlined opportunities arising from the jurisdiction's unique position.

The Minister also announced two new initiatives: the establishment of a business think tank, to be led by Peter Montegriffo KC, tasked with helping shape Gibraltar's future economic direction, and plans for a new residency route for financially self-sufficient individuals over the age of 55.

The evening concluded with a discussion between Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC, and former Chief Minister, the Hon Sir Peter Caruana KCMG KC, moderated by Clive Golt. Their conversation focused on Gibraltar's long-term economic prospects, the opportunities presented by the Treaty and the importance of maintaining the jurisdiction's reputation for quality and robust regulation as it pursues future growth.

For Hassans, supporting GibLink reflects our longstanding commitment to promoting Gibraltar as a competitive, well-regulated and internationally connected jurisdiction in which to establish, operate and grow a business.

As Gibraltar enters a new chapter in its relationship with Europe, initiatives such as GibLink provide an important platform for bringing together the people, experience and ideas needed to translate emerging opportunities into meaningful commercial relationships.

We congratulate Minister Arias-Vasquez, seen here with Hassans Partner Selwyn Figueras, and everyone involved in organising the GibLink series and are delighted to have played a part in supporting this initiative across Marbella, Manchester and London.
