Members' Voluntary Liquidations - Receipt of Liquidator Licence

I am delighted to have recently been authorised and licensed by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission as an Insolvency Practitioner to act as Liquidator in members' voluntary liquidations, adding to Hassans' existing offering in this space.

Hassans now boast 2 practitioners able to act as such (my colleague, Abraham Beniso, formerly an audit director at one of the 'big four' accountancy firms, and myself, with a cross-border corporate tax and commercial background and direct advisory involvement in close to 100 members' voluntary liquidations of Gibraltar entities including cross-border assets and liabilities) as well as various other practitioners with considerable legal advisory experience in this area. We are, accordingly, well placed to cover the complete range of legal and accounting needs that typically arise in the conduct of such matters (including liaising with [and introducing and/or project managing] practitioners in a whole host of jurisdictions regarding any perfection requirements that particular assets and liabilities requiring assignment and transfer to members may be subject to).

Further, given the relative speed and cost efficiency of pursuing voluntary liquidations in Gibraltar (as well as the wide-ranging powers afforded to Liquidators of a Gibraltar entity, allowing significant flexibility in the manner of effecting liquidation distributions) together with the similar ease of redomiciliation of an entity into Gibraltar (which our team also specialise in), we are presently seeing more and more clients using this route (of continuing entities from other jurisdictions into ours) as a means of capitalising upon the advantages Gibraltar offers in bringing a company to the conclusion of its life cycle.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me for any enquiries or queries.
