As a Partner in Hassans’ Financial Services Department, my brief is wide-ranging and varied. I specialise in banking, insurance, financial services regulation and licensing, and regularly advise credit institutions, insurers and other regulated entities on Gibraltar licensing, regulatory and transactional matters. In addition, and on account of my earlier tenure in the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department, I have a wealth of experience in private client matters and corporate and commercial transactional work. Over the years, I have therefore honed my skills as a practitioner, specialising in corporate lending and banking finance and corporate governance, where I regularly act for leading institutions on complex, high-value transactions.

I joined Hassans in October 2010 after an extensive academic career at the University of Oxford. Upon completing a BA in Jurisprudence at Oriel College (2005), my academic bent secured a number of successive post-graduate scholarships. These enabled me to work my way through the University’s MSc, (2006); M.Phil, (2007), M.A. and finally D.Phil in Law programmes (2009). During this period, I also had the opportunity of teaching at the University and collaborating in post-graduate research and publication works, including the publication of an article co-written with Professor Hoyle (2008) in a British peer reviewed journal.

I completed the Bar Vocational Course at City University, London. I am a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and I am called to the Bar of England and Wales, as well as Gibraltar.
