Louise Martinez

Louise is an Associate (Barrister) in our Litigation Department, specialising in civil and commercial litigation.

She works closely with Partners on the Litigation team, particularly Lewis Baglietto KC and Moshe Levy, and has experience across a broad range of civil, commercial and criminal matters.

Louise has been involved in significant litigation before the Supreme Court of Gibraltar, the Court of Appeal and the Magistrates’ Court. Her practice encompasses commercial and trust disputes, judicial review proceedings and landlord and tenant disputes. Her work spans all stages of litigation, from pre-action strategy and interlocutory applications through to trial preparation and appeals. Recent cases in which Louise has assisted include:

• Gibtelecom Limited v Gibfibre Limited & Others (unlawful means conspiracy claim)
• Hepta Limited v Bahia Caterers Limited (landlord and tenant)
• R (Hepta) v DCM (judicial review claim)
• AB v Line Trust Corporation Limited and Others (trust litigation)

Louise also undertakes criminal and legal aid work before the Magistrates’ Court, including matters involving assault, road traffic offences and food hygiene prosecutions. Her work includes advising clients, drafting applications, preparing matters for trial and appearing at court hearings.

Louise graduated with First-Class Honours in Law from the University of Liverpool, where she was awarded the 2023 Banking Law Prize for Best Assessment Performance in Banking Law. She subsequently completed the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law, achieving High Distinctions in every module, and was awarded a Certificate of Honour by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple for outstanding academic performance.

She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in October 2024 and was admitted and enrolled as a Barrister of the Supreme Court of Gibraltar in November 2025.
