International Tax Bites: Rita De La Feria - what is tax for?

For those in the international tax world there are few people better known or more well respected that Rita De Le Feria. Professor De La Feria is one of tax's great communicators, she has taught at Durham, Leeds, Trinity College, and Oxford and is a world leader, having given evidence to the House of Commons, and has recently advised the Brazilian Government on a wholesale reform of the VAT system.

It was, therefore, with some trepidation that, along with with my co-presenter Harriet Brown of Old Square Tax Chambers, we approached an interview with Professor De La feria for the latest edition of our podcast International Tax Bites. The truth of the matter is Rita is a a highly intelligent normal and friendly person. We spoke for just over an hour on the development of tax policy and it was very enlightening.
