Gibraltar Gambling - proposed legislative and regulatory changes

Last week, HM Government of Gibraltar's Gambling Division circulated their much anticipated consultation paper on the proposed amendments to the local licensing regime. The proposals will affect B2C and B2B operators based in Gibraltar or those contracting with Gibraltar B2C licenses.

The proposal covers technical developments, with the Division understanding and taking into account the commercial needs of the industry. The second main theme is the regulatory challenges Gibraltar faces as a result of Brexit, which are ever evolving.

Effort is being made to find a proper balance between commercial needs of the industry and regulatory requirements. Invites for submission of solutions based responses are now open.

The Hassans' Gaming team are working closely with our clients to coordinate submissions to HMGoG's Gambling Division.  The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2020. Do contact us if you have any queries or would like to discuss further.
