Revolut secures Gibraltar DLT licence to support global crypto expansion.

Global fintech Revolut has been granted a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Provider licence by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC), marking a significant step in its international digital assets strategy.

The authorisation, granted to its newly established entity, Revolut Global Digital Assets Limited (RGDAL), will support the expansion of its cryptocurrency services across international markets.

With more than 80 million retail customers worldwide and over 16 million crypto users, Revolut joins Gibraltar’s growing digital assets sector, reinforcing the jurisdiction’s position as an established regulatory centre for international fintech businesses.

The announcement highlights the continued relevance of Gibraltar’s pioneering DLT regulatory framework, introduced to provide regulatory clarity and robust oversight for businesses operating in the digital assets space.

Congratulations to the team at Revolut and the Hassans legal team, Aaron Payas, Jeremy Requena, Jerome Compson supported by Amelia Nunez.

Securing our DLT authorisation from the GFSC reflects our commitment to operating at the highest standards of regulatory compliance. Gibraltar’s pioneering oversight in the digital asset space makes it an ideal jurisdiction to support our global operational framework as we continue building trusted and secure crypto services for our international customer base.
