As a Partner in Hassans’ Financial Services Department, my current practice is broad in scope and primarily spans across a range of regulatory and transactional matters. From banking and insurance, to licensing and financial services regulation, I offer professional advice on the jurisdiction’s legal and regulatory framework to a host of regulated entities, credit institutions, insurers and private clients.

Drawing on my earlier tenure in the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department, I bring a broad, informed perspective and a wealth of experience to bear upon private client matters; corporate transactions, and regulatory mandates. Over the years, I have honed a particular expertise in the handling of complex, high-value transactions while acting for leading institutions.

More recently, I have been closely involved in the development of Gibraltar’s civil aviation framework, serving as a key, founder contributor in shaping the Gibraltar Aircraft Registry project and bringing it to fruition. My work in this area encompasses the legal, regulatory, corporate structuring and transactional dimensions of aircraft registration and aviation finance. I have published a series of thought-leadership articles charting the evolution of Gibraltar’s aviation proposition. I am, therefore, well placed to advise on the intersection of aviation, corporate, and financial services law within the Gibraltar context, and I welcome enquiries from aircraft owners, operators, financiers, and industry stakeholders who are keen to explore what the jurisdiction has to offer.

I joined Hassans in October 2010 following an extensive academic career at the University of Oxford, where I completed a BA in Jurisprudence at Oriel College (2005) before securing successive post-graduate scholarships which enabled me to complete the University’s MSc (2006), M.Phil (2007), M.A. and D.Phil in Law programmes (2009). During this period, I taught at the University and collaborated in post-graduate research, including the publication of an article co-written with Professor Hoyle (2008) in a British peer-reviewed journal. I completed the Bar Vocational Course at City University, London. I am a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and I am called to the Bar of England and Wales as well as Gibraltar.
