Our huge congratulations to Jeremy McMahon who was announced as the winner of the Hassans' Prize at last night’s The The Sovereign Art Foundation Limited Art Foundation Limited Sovereign, Gibraltar prize-giving held at the stunning offices of Xapo Bank.
Jeremy’s work, entitled Disturbing Alloy, was created using Indian ink, fineliner and watercolour (“using structured pen work to illustrate the amount of noise generated by building [and] oil paints as a guide to create clusters of cacophony”) and is a portrayal of the construction work that has been taking place at Eastern Beach, Gibraltar, an area which he himself has enjoyed over the years.
Now a university student in the UK, Jeremy created this piece whilst in his final year of his A level course. The award was presented by Hassans Partner Wayne Fortunato with a family member kindly collected the award on Jeremy’s behalf.
As lead sponsors of the SAF Gibraltar prize, we are delighted to award Jeremy £400 and also £400 to his secondary school Bayside Comprehensive. We are also very pleased to learn that Jeremy’s work has already been sold during the silent auction period raising funds for the SAF, which works with charities to provide therapy through many different forms of art.
