The Law Council of Gibraltar is the governing body of the legal profession in Gibraltar, having been formally constituted in the early 1990s. It is the successor body to the Gibraltar Bar Association. Its task is to lay down policy relating to all matters affecting the legal profession, representing and supporting its members’ interests and foster the growth and development of the legal profession. The Council draws its members from all levels of seniority within the legal profession in Gibraltar. All solicitors and barristers in private practice, industry or government, are eligible to join.
