Sean studied Law at Coventry University before completing the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, London Bloomsbury. He went on to complete his training at a respected law firm and was called to the Bar in November 2022.
From the outset of his career, Sean has gained broad experience across multiple practice areas, including family, commercial, civil litigation, employment, private client, and probate. His primary focus, however, has always been litigation, with a particular emphasis on criminal law. During his training, he was involved in several high profile matters, most notably the Lishman Appeal, a murder appeal that attracted significant public and legal attention.
Since joining Hassans, Sean has concentrated his practice on criminal litigation, working to help establish the firm’s criminal team as one of Gibraltar’s leading practices in this field. He is well versed in both Magistrates’ Court and Supreme Court procedure and is now immersing himself in appellate work before the Court of Appeal. His courtroom experience, combined with his pragmatic and client‑focused approach, has positioned him as a strong advocate with a growing reputation for results.
Sean is particularly interested in expanding his practice into financial crime, an area of increasing importance in Gibraltar’s legal landscape. He is keen to apply his litigation skills to complex financial investigations, combining his courtroom expertise with a developing knowledge of regulatory and commercial frameworks. His ambition is to become a trusted advisor and advocate in cases involving fraud, money laundering, and other financial offences, complementing his existing criminal practice.
Clients value Sean for his professionalism, candour, and commitment. He does not simply tell clients what they want to hear; instead, he provides clear, realistic advice while always acting in their best interests. His goal is to build a reputation as one of Gibraltar’s top criminal lawyers, known for his integrity, diligence, and high success rate across both traditional criminal litigation and the increasingly complex field of financial crime.
