Hassans & Line Group raise £2,500 for GBC Open Day

Hassans and Line Group held a Spinathon and Christmas Fayre on Monday 9th December to raise funds for Gibraltar's charity fundraising day ‘GBC Open Day’.

In the weeks leading up to the GBC Open Day, which is an annual event held in December, businesses, organisations, schools, youth groups etc organise different events to raise as much money as possible and which is shared amongst local charities, ending with a day-long event and an evening gala which is broadcast live on the local TV station, GBC, celebrating all the different fundraising events, ranging from the sublime to the downright ridiculous and everything in between!

Spearheaded by Matthew Torres, Hassans & Line Group kicked off a 9 hour long spinathon with 23 employees taking part. They collectively cycled a total of 497.734kms over the coure of day - approximately the distance from Gibraltar to Lisbon! Maravilhoso!

The spinners were supported by primary school choirs from St Anne's, Governors Meadow and St Mary's, as well as performers from MAGS - local DJ Nathan Pereira (Nate), and guitarist/soloist Nicky Borda and Briana Crome.

To keep the spinners and supporters going, cake and bakes were on sale, along with a raffle for festive prizes.

The event raised over £1600, which the Partners of Hassans kindly agreed to top up, making the final donation £2500.

Thank you to all who took part, and we look forward to presenting our cheque on GBC Open Day tonight.
