Ronaldo meets Ethereum: Will you own CR7's ERC-721?

Yet another instance of sports clubs entering the digital asset space.

Italian soccer giants Juventus have signed a licensing agreement with blockchain-based fantasy soccer platform Sorare. The deal means that digital collectible trading cards of Juventus players such as Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7) will be available on the platform, with fans able to earn prizes by playing tournaments on the Sorare game.

“We are very proud to have signed this agreement with such an Italian heavyweight," said Sorare CEO Nicolas Julia. "We see this as a new key step in our vision to onboard the best soccer clubs from around the world and bring blockchain-gaming to football fans around the world.” www.coindesk.com/...
