Aidan Cleverly is an Associate in Hassans’ Litigation department.
His practice consists of advisory and advocacy work in general litigation matters including criminal, family, employment, personal injury and immigration.
He is also involved in handling compliance matters with the Compliance Department.
Aidan received an LLB Law Degree (Hons) from the University of Sunderland and an LLM in Bar Professional Training with distinction from the University of Northumbria. His dissertation was on the Law of Self-Determination titled “The Journey to Autonomy – The Case for the Decolonisation of Gibraltar”.
He also holds Professional Certificates in Cyber Security and Enterprise from Newcastle University, a Professional Certificate in Gibraltar Law from University of Gibraltar and is an Accredited Interpersonal Mediator with UK Mediation.
Aidan was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2016 as a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. He also joined Hassans in 2016 and was called to the Gibraltar Bar in 2018.
Aidan is the current Chairperson of the GSLP Youth Section and was a member of “Young Gib Remain”, a Gibraltar-based youth group affiliated with the “StrongerIn” campaign to remain within the EU.
In addition to having a keen interest in politics, Aidan also enjoys gastronomy, fitness and football – and is an avid supporter of FC Barcelona. On occasion, he also writes articles for “The New People” on various political and social issues in Gibraltar.
