Hassans in the Community
Hassans strongly believes in supporting the community. We have been active in Gibraltar for nearly 80 years and throughout that time has supported a huge range of causes both within Gibraltar and Internationally. We listen to our staff and support causes that are close to their hearts. We also support and encourage our staff in their fundraising endeavours.
We work alongside, support and sponsor initiatives and events that take place in the local area ensuring the whole community can benefit and partake in a range of music, art, sport and faith based events. It’s our way of staying in touch with our staff, clients, friends and family.
2019 Key Events Sponsorship
We are excited to be a platinum sponsor of the Gibraltar 2019 NatWest International Island Games which is taking place in Gibraltar in July 2019. Gibraltar will welcome c. 2500 participants from 24 member islands covering 14 sports for a week-long games programme. We are anticipating that many members of staff will volunteer to help during the course of the events, as well as attend what will no doubt be a momentous Games.
Tradewise Chess Festival 2019
Hassans is sponsoring the festival, which is held at The Caleta Hotel, for the 2nd year running. The tournament receives spectacular commendation from the world’s press including; “widely lauded as the World’s most prestigious open” (The Times) and “The tournament has become a magnet for top players”(The New York Times)
Grass root sport
Gibraltar has a rich sporting heritage and Hassans understands the positive benefits of sport on both the mind and body. We sponsor a large number of junior and senior sports teams and associations including football, dance, basketball and rugby amongst others.
We also support the local business community, in particular, small business through the Gibraltar Federation for Small Businesses (GFSB). We want to help keep small businesses alive and help new businesses prosper.
Our lawyers undertake a large amount of pro-bono work, both for those who would otherwise struggle to afford representation and for charitable organisations. These include, amongst others, The Citizens Advise Bureau, Gibraltar Alzheimer and Dementia Group, Equality Rights Group GGR and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
We recognise the effect our business has on the environment and continue to find ways to reduce our impact on the environment.
